Close your year without being an accountant

Axolot works out your result, checks your data for consistency, freezes your annual accounts and opens the next financial year. You tell it what happened, Axolot does the accounting.

Preview of Annual accounts

Three figures, in plain words

What you earned, what you spent, what is left. Then your position at year end. The detailed trial balance with account numbers is there, but stays collapsed: it is meant for your accountant, not for you.

The checks done for you

Draft invoices, receipts awaiting approval, unsorted bank transactions: Axolot tells you what is blocking the closing, and what merely deserves a glance.

An adjustment? Just describe it

The "Tell Axolot something" button asks what happened, never which account to use. A forgotten expense, revenue still to be received, an expense that was actually private, a VAT return that was settled. The effect shows in your figures right away, before the closing.

A real closing

  • Axolot freezes a sealed snapshot of your annual accounts.
  • It closes the income statement accounts and transfers the result.
  • It protects the year and prepares the balances carried forward.
  • The owner can reopen the last closed year: only the entries Axolot created are removed, your invoices and expenses stay untouched.
Good to know Axolot does not yet handle depreciation or inventory. If your activity involves either, your accountant will complete those two points from the file Axolot prepares.
